The Tale of Two Wolves (Native American Legends)

An Old Cherokee is teaching his Grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Morale of the story => Light and darkness both live inside of us but whichever we dwell on and give power to is bound to expand. What wins out in life is the stuff we cultivate — what we feed. It’s that simple.
Isn’t it amazing then how much we can control? We have so much power and influence over outcomes in our lives because we have the power to stop feeding the bad wolf and start providing time and energy to the good wolf. I am not saying that you can just think your way to a perfect life that is always good. But you can make a conscious effort to change your perspective and change your thoughts.
So at any given moment make an effort to consciously reach out for the good wolf instead of reactively turning your attention to the bad one.
